Our History
In the late 1800s The MacKenzie Family found it's way into the funeral industry when John MacKenzie arrived in Nova Scotia from his native Scotland. As a skilled woodworker and blacksmith, MacKenzie was know for building fine wagon wheels and custom wagons. These wagons were soon transformed into funeral coaches and MacKenzie also began manufacturing his own branded wooden caskets. Finding their niche in the industry through production and sales, MacKenzie's three sons took the next step and began training at The Boston School of Anatomy & Embalming (The New England Institute) in the early 1900s
The MacKenzie Family has been serving the funeral industry in the United
States and Canada since 1897, and for more than a half century
